I always find author bios more interesting when they give a little sense of what the person enjoys outside of writing, and this one does that with the mix of family, reading, vintage dresses and romance. The “heroes-in-training” line also made me wonder how much real family life sneaks into an author’s characters. For romance writers, everyday relationships probably provide plenty of little details to borrow from.
Its interesting how different experiences can shape a story without the writer planning it from the start. The part about visiting Israel and then returning home to write Falling for Mr Wrong shows how travel can stay in your head long after the trip is over. I also liked the idea of creating characters from things you genuinely enjoy, rather than trying to fit a publishers formula. Sometimes the most unexpected inspiration probably makes the story feel more personal and less predictable.
